Position – International Placements (Students Placement)

Department: International Corporate Outreach / International Placement Cell

Location: Jalandhar, Punjab

About the Role

Lovely Professional University is seeking an experienced, globally connected, and result-oriented professional to lead its International Placements and Global Corporate Outreach function. The role is responsible for building a strong international placement ecosystem by creating global employment opportunities, forging strategic corporate partnerships, strengthening alumni engagement, and enhancing the employability of both Indian and international students.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in international recruitment, corporate relations, global business development, higher education partnerships, and stakeholder management across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

International Placement Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for international placements and global career opportunities.
  • Create sustainable pathways for Indian students to secure employment opportunities across international markets.
  • Facilitate placement opportunities for international students in their respective home countries through employer and alumni networks.
  • Expand the university's global placement footprint by identifying new regions, industries, and employer segments.

Global Corporate Outreach & Employer Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with multinational corporations, global employers, recruitment firms, staffing agencies, and industry associations.
  • Drive employer acquisition initiatives to generate international internships, graduate programs, and full-time employment opportunities.
  • Represent the university at global recruitment fairs, industry forums, conferences, and networking events.
  • Position the university as a preferred talent partner for international organizations.

Consultant & Agency Partnerships

  • Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage international recruitment consultants and placement agencies.
  • Develop region-specific placement partnerships to support student mobility and employment opportunities.
  • Negotiate agreements and ensure quality service delivery through strategic agency collaborations.

International Collaborations & MoUs

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships, MoUs, and collaborations with international universities, corporate organizations, chambers of commerce, and government agencies.
  • Explore opportunities for joint initiatives, internships, talent exchange programs, and global employability projects.
  • Strengthen institutional collaborations that contribute to student career advancement and international exposure.

Student Preparation & Global Employability

  • Design and implement student readiness programs aligned with international hiring requirements.
  • Lead initiatives related to:
  • Global career readiness
  • International interview preparation
  • Cross-cultural communication
  • Professional etiquette and workplace behaviour
  • Resume and LinkedIn enhancement
  • Language and communication skills
  • Country-specific employment practices
  • Collaborate with academic departments to bridge skill gaps and improve global employability outcomes.

Global Market Intelligence

  • Monitor global labor market trends, talent requirements, immigration policies, salary benchmarks, and workforce dynamics.
  • Identify emerging international employment opportunities and sectors with growing talent demand.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership for expansion of international placement initiatives.
  • Develop market intelligence reports and dashboards to support decision-making.

Compliance, Documentation & Mobility Support

  • Ensure adherence to international recruitment regulations, labor laws, visa requirements, and mobility protocols.
  • Oversee placement-related documentation, contracts, onboarding formalities, and compliance processes.
  • Guide students through overseas employment procedures and relocation requirements.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for international placement operations.

Global Alumni & Industry Engagement

  • Build and strengthen a global alumni network to support placements, mentoring, referrals, and employer introductions.
  • Engage alumni working in leadership positions across international organizations to create career opportunities for students.
  • Develop alumni-driven career initiatives, networking forums, and employer engagement programs.
  • Foster long-term relationships with global industry leaders and recruitment partners.

Data Analytics & Performance Management

  • Define, track, and report key performance indicators related to international placements.
  • Monitor placement outcomes, employer satisfaction, conversion ratios, and student success metrics.
  • Analyze trends and continuously improve processes to enhance placement effectiveness.
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations for senior leadership.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing international placement and outreach team.
  • Work closely with academic schools, international affairs, admissions, alumni relations, and training departments.
  • Build strong relationships with senior corporate leaders, government bodies, embassies, trade organizations, and recruitment agencies worldwide.
  • Drive a culture of excellence, innovation, accountability, and student-centric service delivery.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Management, International Business, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Corporate Relations, Education Management, or a related field.
  • International certifications and overseas exposure will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 12–20+ years of experience in International Placements, Corporate Relations, International Recruitment, Global Talent Acquisition, Business Development, Career Services, or Higher Education Partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in developing international employer networks and overseas placement opportunities.
  • Experience in managing global collaborations, MoUs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of international labor markets, mobility frameworks, visa processes, and global recruitment practices.
