Payroll Specialist

Position: Payroll Specialist Location: Glendale, AZ (85009) Fully Onsite Compensation: $70K-$80K Are you passionate about precision, numbers, and making sure everyone gets paid accurately and on time? We're looking for a Payroll Specialist to play a key role in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll processing for our client s valued employees. Key Responsibilities: Process weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and year-end payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees. Review timesheets and wage computations to identify and resolve discrepancies Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments Issue accurate and timely paychecks and pay stubs Calculate wages, deductions, and retroactive pay adjustments Input RO's weekly and generate monthly commission checks Track employee leave (vacation, personal, sick time) Assign hours to appropriate jobs and adjust wage rates as needed Calculate and submit payroll and unemployment taxes to federal and state agencies Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports; maintain job logs Generate and distribute annual W-2 forms Provide guidance to employees and managers on payroll, tax, benefits, and garnishments Support Payroll Manager with benefits, reports and general ledger reconciliations Stay current on payroll-related laws and regulations Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements (e.g., workers comp, garnishments) Interpret payroll policies and resolve employee inquiries Requirements: 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience Certified Payroll experience a plus Strong attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in processing/reporting Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and credit check This is an on-site role and does not allow hybrid or remote flexibility Interested candidates email resume to: Natalie.arnolde@roberthalf.com with the subject line Payroll Specialist - South Glendale
