Interior Designer in Retail Store

Location: New Delhi Company: Jagdish Store (JS Furnishings) Job Summary: We are seeking a creative and customer-focused Interior Consultant to assist clients in selecting the ideal furnishings, curtains, upholstery, bedding, carpets, wallpapers, and décor solutions for residential and commercial spaces. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of interior aesthetics, color coordination, space planning, and furnishing materials while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities: Client Consultation * Meet customers in-store and understand their furnishing and interior design requirements. * Provide expert recommendations on curtains, upholstery fabrics, bedding, carpets, rugs, wallpapers, blinds, and home décor accessories. * Assist clients in selecting color schemes, textures, patterns, and furnishing combinations that complement their interiors. * Prepare mood boards and design concepts based on customer preferences and project requirements. Design & Project Coordination * Conduct site visits for measurements and project assessment when required. * Coordinate with tailors, installers, procurement, and project teams to ensure timely execution. * Guide customers on product functionality, maintenance, durability, and styling options. * Ensure design proposals align with customer budgets and project timelines. Sales & Business Development * Convert customer inquiries into sales opportunities. * Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers and hospitality clients. * Assistance to sales team for Achieving monthly sales targets and contribute to store revenue growth. * Follow up with prospective customers and maintain a strong project pipeline. Product Knowledge * Stay updated on the latest interior design trends, furnishing materials, colors, and styles. * Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all store products and collections. * Recommend suitable products based on customer requirements and market trends. Customer Experience * Deliver a premium consultation experience from inquiry to project completion. * Resolve customer concerns professionally and ensure high satisfaction levels. * Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, quotations, and project progress. Qualifications & Skills: * Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. * 2–5 years of experience in interior design, furnishings, home décor, or retail consultation. * Strong knowledge of curtains, upholstery, soft furnishings, carpets, wallpapers, and décor products. * Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, or design software will be an added advantage. * Strong sales orientation with the ability to understand customer needs and close projects. * Creative mindset with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail. Preferred Experience: * Experience in luxury furnishings, home décor retail, interior design studios, or hospitality furnishing projects. * Existing network of architects, interior designers is preferred. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): * Monthly sales achievement. * Customer satisfaction and repeat business. * Number of consultations converted into projects. * Revenue generated from furnishing and décor solutions. * Architect and designer relationship development.
