Position Overview:

Cyient Semiconductors is looking for an experienced Director – IT Systems Infrastructure & Administration to lead and manage its IT infrastructure, systems administration, and engineering computing environments.

The role will be responsible for defining the infrastructure strategy and ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of critical systems supporting global semiconductor engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Systems Infrastructure, Linux Administration, Virtualization, Storage, Networking, Security, Automation, and Engineering/EDA environments , along with proven leadership experience managing technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall Systems Infrastructure and Systems Administration function.
• Define and execute infrastructure strategy, architecture, modernization, and capacity plans.
• Manage Linux-based enterprise and engineering infrastructure supporting semiconductor development.
• Oversee compute, virtualization, storage, backup, disaster recovery, networking, and infrastructure security.
• Support semiconductor and EDA engineering environments, including compute infrastructure and license management.
• Drive infrastructure automation, standardization, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, security, and business continuity of critical infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor Systems and Infrastructure teams and act as a senior technical escalation point.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, and global IT teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Manage infrastructure vendors, technology partners, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
• Drive incident management, root-cause analysis, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in Systems Administration, IT Infrastructure, or Engineering Infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading infrastructure and systems administration teams.
• Strong expertise in Linux administration , preferably RHEL-based environments.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery .
• Strong understanding of networking, including VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewalls, and access controls .
• Experience with infrastructure security, system hardening, identity management, and access controls.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Strong exposure to automation using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash, or PowerShell .
• Experience supporting geographically distributed and business-critical environments.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Semiconductor, ASIC, FPGA, EDA, HPC, or engineering computing environments.
• Experience supporting EDA tools and license infrastructure.
• FlexNet/FlexLM license management.
• Slurm or other workload-management platforms.
• Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA environments.
• Docker and container platforms.
• Grafana, Prometheus, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience supporting geographically distributed teams.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong people leadership and technical management experience.
• Ability to balance strategic infrastructure leadership with strong technical understanding.
• Experience working with global and cross-functional teams.
