Role Overview
As a Finance Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial accounting, reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, audits, and internal controls. You will partner closely with business leaders to build scalable finance processes, ensure compliance, and deliver timely financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys building efficient finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end financial accounting and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Ensure timely closure of books with complete accuracy.
Oversee statutory, internal, and investor audits while ensuring full compliance.
Manage direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
Design, implement, and strengthen internal financial controls and governance processes.
Prepare MIS reports, cash flow statements, financial dashboards, and management reports.
Drive finance process automation and ERP implementation/improvements.
Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, bankers, and external stakeholders.
Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and working capital management.
Partner with cross-functional teams including Business, Operations, Legal, and Leadership.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while establishing scalable processes.
Required Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) – First Attempt.
Articleship completed with a Big 4 or another reputed audit firm.
7–10 years of post-qualification experience.
Experience working in high-growth startups (preferably EdTech, SaaS, Consumer Tech, or Internet businesses).
Strong understanding of Indian GAAP, IND AS, financial reporting, and consolidation.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and finance automation projects.

Candidates from high-growth startups such as EdTech, SaaS, Consumer Tech, FinTech, or Internet businesses are preferred.
Early career experience with Big 4 firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC) will be an added advantage.

Within the first 6–12 months, the successful candidate will:
Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting.
Complete statutory and internal audits with minimal observations.
Strengthen internal controls and compliance processes.
Build reliable MIS and financial dashboards for leadership.
