About the Role

iKure is looking for a field-oriented and relationship-driven Sales Executive – Eye Care & Institutional Partnerships to develop opportunities around ophthalmic screening devices, technology-enabled eye-care solutions and community-based health programmes across Karnataka.

The person will engage ophthalmologists, optometrists, eye hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, optical networks, Rotary clubs, CSR partners, NGOs and other healthcare institutions to develop device demonstrations, institutional partnerships, screening programmes and implementation opportunities.

This is not a routine pharmaceutical medical-representative role. The person should be comfortable conducting device demonstrations, developing institutional opportunities, coordinating pilots, following up with partners and supporting programme implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and engage ophthalmologists, optometrists, eye hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, optical networks and other healthcare institutions across Karnataka.
  • Generate qualified opportunities for ophthalmic screening devices and technology-enabled eye-care solutions.
  • Conduct or coordinate device demonstrations, product presentations and solution walkthroughs.
  • Understand partner requirements and propose suitable deployment, pilot or programme models.
  • Support discussions on device purchase, placement, rental, programme-based deployment and other commercial models.
  • Develop relationships with Rotary clubs, district representatives, healthcare committees and other institutional stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for Rotary-supported eye-screening and community-health programmes.
  • Present iKure’s eye-care solutions to Rotary clubs, CSR teams, NGOs, foundations and healthcare organisations.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, concept notes, budgets, pilot plans and implementation documents.
  • Coordinate screening programmes involving hospitals, doctors, optometrists, community partners and iKure’s internal teams.
  • Ensure that screening programmes include appropriate consultation, referral and follow-up pathways.
  • Coordinate partner onboarding, device orientation, training schedules and field implementation.
  • Follow up regularly with partners to ensure effective device utilisation and programme continuity.
  • Track partner meetings, demonstrations, proposals, pilots, device placements and commercial closures.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity updates through the prescribed CRM or reporting system.
  • Map the Karnataka eye-care ecosystem and identify potential hospital, clinical, referral, CSR, Rotary and implementation partners.
  • Gather market intelligence on ophthalmic devices, screening programmes, competing solutions, pricing and partner expectations.
  • Travel regularly across Bengaluru and other districts of Karnataka for partner meetings, demonstrations, pilots and programme reviews.
What We Are Looking For
  • 3–6 years of experience in ophthalmology, optometry, medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare sales, eye-care programmes or institutional partnerships.
  • Experience working with ophthalmologists, optometrists, eye hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres or optical networks.
  • Prior experience in ophthalmic or diagnostic-device sales and demonstrations will be strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships within the Karnataka eye-care ecosystem will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with Rotary clubs, CSR teams, NGOs, foundations or community-health programmes will be useful.
  • Ability to understand and clearly explain medical-device and technology-enabled healthcare solutions.
  • Comfortable with institutional selling, partner meetings, demonstrations, proposals, pilots and implementation follow-up.
  • Good understanding of pricing discussions, sales cycles, partner requirements and commercial follow-up.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Kannada is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Karnataka.
  • Practical, organised, self-driven and comfortable working in a growing, founder-led healthcare organisation.
Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will be preferred:

  • Ophthalmic or optometry products
  • Eye-care screening and diagnostic devices

  • Medical-device demonstrations
  • Community eye-screening programmes
  • Hospital and clinic partnerships
  • Institutional healthcare sales
  • Rotary or CSR healthcare initiatives
  • Digital-health-enabled screening
  • Referral and follow-up programmes
Role Fit

This role is best suited for someone who combines strong field relationships with the ability to develop institutional opportunities.

The person should be able to move beyond routine doctor visits and support the complete process from initial engagement and device demonstration to pilot development, commercial discussion, implementation and partner follow-up.

The objective is not only to sell a device, but to help create sustainable eye-care programmes that connect screening with consultation, referral and continued care.

Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be assessed based on:

  • Number of qualified institutions and partners engaged
  • Device demonstrations completed
  • Proposals and pilot plans submitted
  • Institutional opportunities created
  • Device placements and commercial closures
  • Rotary, CSR and community partnerships developed
  • Eye-screening programmes initiated
