About the Role: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems using Python and Fast API.

Drive architecture decisions, mentor teams, and build resilient distributed systems in a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and own scalable, resilient backend architectures for distributed systems Define service boundaries, data ownership, and communication patterns (REST, async, event-driven) Build and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and Fast API Lead architectural decisions across microservices, modular monoliths, and event-driven systems Optimize data models, database performance, and storage strategies (SQL & No SQL) Ensure system reliability with proper handling of failures, retries, and scalability patterns Drive code quality through best practices, design patterns, and code reviews Collaborate with Dev Ops on cloud deployments, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability Mentor engineers and act as technical owner for backend systems

Technical Skills:

Expert-level proficiency in Python and Fast API Strong experience in backend architecture and system design Deep knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture Expertise in RDBMS (Postgre SQL/My SQL) and at least one No SQL database Experience with asynchronous programming, concurrency, and message brokers (Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.) Strong understanding of API design, event-driven systems, and data consistency models Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts, monitoring, logging, and observability tools Knowledge of secure backend practices (OAuth2, JWT, encryption, API security)

Required Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 10+ years of backend/software engineering experience Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Fast API in production environments Proven experience designing and scaling large, distributed backend systems Strong expertise in system design, architecture patterns, and engineering best practices Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions and mentor engineering teams

Nice To Have:

Experience in monolith to microservices migrations Exposure to event-driven or streaming systems Experience with API gateways, rate limiting, and auth systems Prior experience as Tech Lead / Senior Backend Engineer / Solution Architect
