Position OverviewWe are seeking a dependable and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the healthcare team at a State of Ohio Correctional Facility. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing essential nursing care to an underserved population while working in a secure, structured environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and professionalism, while maintaining compliance with facility and state regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care and medical triage to inmates under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or Physician.Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as prescribed.Assess, document, and report on patient health status and responses to care.Respond to medical emergencies and assist in crisis situations as needed.Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care and adherence to established protocols.Maintain accurate and timely medical records.Comply with all institutional, state, and federal policies and procedures.
RequirementsActive RN license in the State of Ohio (in good standing).Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience (correctional, ER, psych, or med/surg preferred).Must be flexible with scheduling — shifts may change based on facility staffing needs.Availability required for holidays, including:ThanksgivingDay after ThanksgivingChristmas EveChristmas DayStrong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
