Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Design & Development (Hardware & Software) is responsible for strategic leadership and overall ownership of electronic hardware and software design activities at the Bangalore location. The role oversees complete product design lifecycle including architecture definition, detailed design, validation, and release support for Electronics Lab and Assembly operations.

This position provides technical direction, decision‐making leadership, and governance across hardware and software development teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards, and manufacturing readiness.

Responsibilities

• Define overall hardware and software design strategy for electronics products

• Lead system‐level architecture, design approach, and technology selection

• Oversee schematic design, firmware development, and system integration activities

• Ensure designs meet functional, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance requirements

• Review and approve design documents, test results, and validation outputs

• Coordinate with Electronics Lab, Testing, Assembly & Integration, EMI/EMC, and QA/QC teams

• Drive resolution of complex design, performance, and integration issues

• Ensure design readiness for prototyping, testing, and production support

• Establish and enforce design standards, documentation, and review processes

• Guide and mentor Managers, Senior Engineers, and Junior Engineers

• Support customer reviews, audits, and technical discussions

• Track design progress, risks, and deliverables against project timelines

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in electronic hardware and embedded software development

• System‐level architecture and design leadership experience

• Deep understanding of hardware‐software integration

• Experience supporting EMC, safety, and compliance requirements

• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and guide solutions

• Leadership and cross‐functional coordination skills

• Strong documentation, review, and technical decision‐making capability
