Executive Safety - Site (Health, Safety & Environment)

Location: Kochi, Kerala

Department: Operations

Role Overview

Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems across workshop, project site, and facility operations. The role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and drives continuous improvement in operational quality and safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor QHSE policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and compliance audits.
  • Identify hazards and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and root cause analyses.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct safety inductions, training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives.
  • Develop emergency response plans and coordinate mock drills.
  • Maintain QHSE records, reports, and audit documentation.
  • Collaborate with project, operations, and technical teams to integrate QHSE practices into daily operations.
  • Promote a proactive safety and quality culture across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
  • 2 – 6 years of experience in HSE management within construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering environments.

  • Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail, accountability, and a strong safety-first mindset.
