Role Description
The Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable. The role includes preparing financial reports, reconciling bank statements, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and maintaining accurate financial documentation.
The successful candidate will assist senior accountants with audits, Saudi tax and compliance activities, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role also includes administering the company’s employee medical insurance policy.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in New Delhi, with work primarily conducted from the office and some flexibility for work-from-home arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records with supporting documentation.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts, and vendor balances.
- Track expenses and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Prepare basic monthly financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Support budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
- Assist with VAT, ZATCA, and other applicable Saudi statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide financial records and supporting documents.
- Administer employee medical insurance, including policy renewals, employee and dependent additions or removals, premium reconciliation, and coordination with insurers or brokers.
- Maintain organised financial records and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve accounting queries.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of relevant accounting or finance support experience, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.
- Strong bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, and basic financial reporting skills.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and expense tracking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and standard office productivity tools.
- Experience with TallyPrime and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is preferred.
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Saudi VAT and ZATCA requirements; experience supporting Saudi accounting operations is preferred.
- Experience administering employee medical insurance policies is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Prior work experience in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
