Duties:Developing and testing new optical network design and optimization algorithmsDesign tooling and gaging utilizing CAD system upon requestOversees Engineering and Manufacturing production needsCoordinates routing and tooling requirements with the manufacturing processEstimates fabrication costs for Engineering P&QRs and short run production for sparesAssists Designers, Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to resolve part and fabrication problemsCreates, updates, and maintains tool drawings, files, and recordsProvides budget inputIdentifies and implements continuous productivity and quality improvementsKnowledge of PLC operation, programming welding practices, and sheet metal fabrication
Required:Ability to partner with Manufacturing Engineering and other Production xzbcwsv Operation teams external suppliers and vendorsAt least 4 years experience establishing cost effective tool and fixture designs that support machined metal part production processesSignificant experience designing fixtures with ProEUnderstanding of advanced tool design requirementsStrong knowledge of machining, assembly and inspection processes for complex multi-axis machined parts
