Senior Manager, Post-Production

Function: ISB Studios, Marketing and Communications

Reports to: Head, ISB Studios

Level: Senior Manager

Role Overview

ISB Studios is looking for a hands-on post-production leader who combines strong narrative editing, motion graphics, animation and design expertise with creative leadership, stakeholder management and operational discipline.

The role requires a strong content-first approach . Much of ISB Studios' work involves research, faculty perspectives, student and alumni experiences, learning content and institutional narratives. The ability to understand the subject, identify the core message and translate it into compelling visual storytelling is critical.

The role will lead a multidisciplinary team of editors, designers, animators and sound professionals while ensuring high creative standards, efficient workflows and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Creative & Editorial Leadership

  • Lead the creative and editorial direction of post-production across multiple video formats.
  • Bring strong narrative judgement to edits, including structure, pacing, clarity, emotional progression and visual storytelling.
  • Provide hands-on creative guidance across video editing, motion graphics, animation and design language .
  • Maintain high standards across graphics, typography, animation, colour, sound and overall visual treatment.

Content-First Post-Production

  • Understand complex academic, research and business content before determining the creative treatment.
  • Identify the central message and ensure editing, graphics and animation strengthen comprehension.
  • Ensure creative choices preserve context, accuracy and the intent of faculty, students, participants and other contributors.
  • Work closely with content and production teams where additional clarification or context is required.

Team & Resource Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop editors, designers, animators and sound professionals.
  • Map projects to resources based on format, complexity, skill requirement, workload and timelines .
  • Understand individual team strengths and allocate work accordingly.
  • Provide clear, constructive creative feedback and build capability within the team.

Creative Briefs & Pre-Production

  • Understand and translate stakeholder requirements into clear creative and post-production briefs.
  • Participate in pre-production meetings to anticipate editing, animation, graphics, sound and other post-production requirements.
  • Ensure relevant creative and production information is effectively communicated to the post-production team.
  • Identify potential post-production challenges before production begins.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the bridge between stakeholders, producers and the post-production team.
  • Understand feedback and translate it into clear, actionable direction for editors and designers.
  • Manage expectations around scope, timelines, revisions and creative feasibility.
  • Communicate creative recommendations confidently to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.

Workflow, Re-Edits & Turnaround Time

  • Build structured review, QC, approval and version-control mechanisms.
  • Identify recurring causes of re-edits and develop processes to reduce avoidable revision cycles.
  • Introduce templates, reusable motion systems and efficient workflows to improve consistency and turnaround time.
  • Monitor workload and bottlenecks and continuously improve post-production processes.

AI & Emerging Workflows

  • Identify practical uses of AI-assisted tools across editing, transcription, visualisation, animation, audio, asset creation and workflow automation.
  • Evaluate new software, plug-ins and creative technologies that can improve speed and quality.
  • Ensure AI is used responsibly, particularly where authenticity, copyright, academic credibility and representation are involved.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience , including experience leading a multidisciplinary post-production or creative team.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in video editing, motion graphics, animation and visual design .
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects , with strong familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, typography, composition, animation principles, sound, colour and contemporary design language.
  • Strong creative judgement, people leadership, stakeholder management and resource-planning skills.
  • Familiarity with current AI-assisted creative tools and evolving post-production technologies.
  • Experience in a studio, production house, agency, media organisation or knowledge/content-led environment preferred.
  • Strong portfolio/showreel demonstrating narrative editing, motion graphics and overall creative judgement is essential.
