Mentor South Bay , provides Early Intervention, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Behavioral Health and Mental Health Outpatient services across Massachusetts and Connecticut. Early Intervention Specialist - School-Age HOURLY PAY: $20.20/hour plus mileage reimbursement Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas Coverage area: Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, Adelanto and surrounding areas Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for school-age children and youth where they can naturally learn and develop. Current openings are for School-age range ( 4 to 21 years old): Our Specialists work in school settings 1-on-1 with children who have been diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability. Plan, schedule and provide weekly early intervention in school settings for a caseload of children/adolescents with developmental disabilities (Autism, down's syndrome, etc.). Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines. Design, implement, and adapt activities for behavioral, language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices. Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching. Monitor, document, and share the child's progress with the family and team. This is a great position to start or advance in a therapeutic services career. Qualifications: Education: For School-age position: High School diploma (or equivalent/GED) required Experience: One year experience working/volunteering with infants or young children and their parents/guardians For school-age program position: ABA and/or Behavior Management s kills/experience/training is highly desired License: Valid CA driver's license in good standing; Also must have at least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state) Vehicle : Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage Skills/Characteristics: Effective communication skills to manage relationships A compassionate approach A commitment to quality in everything you do Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Availability : must be available during regular school hours - Mon-Fri between 8am and 3 pm.
