Job Description<br /><br /><p><u><strong>Job purpose / Objective </strong> </u> </p><p>The purpose of this position is to supervise shift operations of Value stream / Sub Value streams, manage &amp; motivates shop-floor associates, facilitates efficient value creation, mentors entry level associates, coaches &amp; develop associates, ensure conformance to safety, quality &amp; shop-floor standards, maintain IR &amp; shop floor discipline, follow deviation management &amp; continuous improvement to achieve targeted operational results. </p><p><u><strong>Primary Responsibility </strong> </u> </p><p><strong><u>Area: Production Management </u> </strong> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u> </p><p>Organize production setup as per production schedule, assign task to associates, follow standard procedures, methods, BPS &amp; work instructions, adapt &amp; steer primary production activities to fulfil SQCD targets of the shift. </p><p><strong><u>Key Result Areas / Indicators </u> </strong> </p><p>Shift-wise SQCD </p><p><u><strong>Area: Daily shop Management </strong> </u> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u><br />Conduct &amp; document checks / LPC to ensure conformance to safety, quality &amp; shop-floor standards. Record shift events (attendance, breakdowns, quality issues, criticality, performance, etc). Summarize shift events &amp; performance and handover to next shift FLM to ensure seamless production continuity </p><p><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u><br />No deviations to set standards, FPY </p><p><u><strong>Area: Performance Management </strong> </u> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u><br />Track production performance and efficiency KPI (OEE, FPY, scrap, tool life, levelling, fulfilment, etc.), identify and record deviations, collaborate with CFT members or escalate impediments to define &amp; ensure execution of corrective actions to restore &amp; stabilize targeted performance conditions </p><p><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u><br />Productivity pcs/hr, OEE, T&amp;C cost </p><p><u><strong>Area : Communication &amp; collaboration </strong> </u> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u><br />Organize &amp; lead daily meetings (shift, SQCD, etc) with associates, CFT members, managers, vendors, etc, to<br />communicate relevant topics, e.g. company initiatives, goals, challenges &amp; success, projects, discipline, performance, etc, to uphold transparency, productivity &amp; good working relationship. </p><p><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u><br />Communication calendar </p><p><br /><u><strong>Area : Employee &amp; industrial relation </strong> </u> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u><br />Engage proactively with associates to sustain an open forum for them to voice their concerns, grievances, etc. Clarify, advice, counsel, resolve or raise topics to superiors in a fair,transparent &amp; amicable manner to safe guard interests of associates &amp; management and build a progressive work environment.<br /><strong><u>Key Result Areas / Indicators </u> </strong> </p><p>Lawful conduct, no disruption in production.<br /><u><strong>Area :Continuous improvement and change initiatives </strong> </u> </p><p><strong><u>Key activities </u> </strong> </p><p>Motivate and coach associates into active engagement of learning, problem-solving &amp; identifying potentials in manufacturing for Kaizens, suggestions on SQCD to enable operational excellence. Implement organizational change initiatives to bring transformational improvements to VS performance.<br /><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u>  </p><p>Ideas per associate </p><p><u><strong>Area : Coaching &amp; skill development </strong> </u> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u><br />Organize and train new associates for the production lines.Track &amp; monitor skill levels of existing associates. Organize, train and coach them to understand the requirements and reasons behind various processes, procedures &amp; controls planned to ensure safety, efficiency and defect free production. </p><p><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u><br />Adherence to training calendar and skill management<br /><u><strong>Area : Process management </strong> </u> </p><p><strong><u>Key activities </u> </strong><br />Follow defined manufacturing process standards i.e. drawings, PDS, SPC, PFEP, Gauge validity and conduct checks to confirm release of manufacturing during Shift start / Change over and execute defined deviation management if needed to ensure defect free production. </p><p><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u><br />FPY, IDC<br /><u><strong>Area :Management reporting </strong> </u> </p><p><u><strong>Key activities </strong> </u><br />Compile, consolidate and report shop floor deliverables e.g. SAP reporting, input hours, rejection qty, down-times, to enable  management to visualize actual performance e.g. cost review, inventory, order tracking, associate payment, maintenance, budgets, etc. to accordingly steer business performance. </p><p><u><strong>Key Result Areas / Indicators </strong> </u><br />engineering, wage payment </p><br />Qualifications<br /><br /><p><u><strong>Education * </strong> </u> </p><p>Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical / Industrial production)<br /><u><strong>Experience * </strong> </u> </p><p>1+ years in Auto component / Auto ancillary manufacturing industry<br />1+ years of experience in managing unionized/non-unionized/temporary workforce </p><br /><br />Additional Information<br /><br /><p>Prefered: Know how on grinding would be an advantage. </p>
