Industry: Global Investment ManagementLocation: New York City or Seattle, WA (Relocation Assistance Available)Compensation: Up to $300KWork Arrangement: 4 Days Onsite, 3 Fully Remote Weeks AnnuallyAbout the OpportunityA leading global investment management firm is seeking an experienced Director of Internal Audit to lead its global internal audit function.This is a highly visible, strategic leadership opportunity for an individual who can operate as both a hands-on audit leader and a trusted business partner. Reporting directly to the Chief Auditor, this individual will oversee a global team of approximately 6 professionals and play a critical role in strengthening risk management, influencing business strategy, and driving organizational improvements.The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical audit expertise, executive presence, strong people management skills, and the ability to independently lead complex audit engagements from beginning to end.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a global team of internal auditors, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development.Independently own the annual risk-based audit plan, including audit strategy, scoping, execution, reporting, and issue remediation.Oversee audits across investment operations, technology, cybersecurity, operational risk, compliance, and corporate functions.Serve as a strategic business partner to senior executives, providing actionable recommendations that strengthen controls and improve business processes.Present and defend audit findings, challenge senior stakeholders when necessary, and build consensus around recommended improvements.Collaborate with global business leaders to identify emerging risks and align audit priorities with organizational objectives.Manage relationships with external auditors and co-sourcing partners.Drive continuous improvement across the internal audit function, promoting efficiency, accountability, and innovation.Qualifications8+ years of experience in internal audit, operational risk, or related functions, ideally within asset management or investment management.Demonstrated experience managing direct reports and leading high-performing teams.Proven ownership of end-to-end audit engagements, including annual planning, scoping, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.Strong understanding of investment operations, operational risk, internal controls, and technology risk.Experience presenting audit findings and recommendations to executive leadership and senior business stakeholders.Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building abilities.Ability to balance hands-on audit execution with broader strategic leadership responsibilities.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.CPA, CIA, CFA, or other relevant certifications preferred.What Makes This Opportunity UniqueStrategic Influence: Operate as a true business partner with the opportunity to influence decisions and drive meaningful organizational change.Global Leadership: Lead and develop an established international audit team with broad exposure across business functions.Executive Visibility: Work directly with the Chief Auditor and collaborate closely with senior leadership.Ownership & Autonomy: Take responsibility for the full audit lifecycle and help shape the direction of the internal audit function.Competitive Compensation: Strong total compensation package with flexibility for exceptional candidates. xzbcwsv Location Flexibility: Opportunities in both New York City and Seattle, with relocation assistance available.
