About the RoleWe are looking for a Lead/Staff Software Engineer to help shape the architecture, development, and evolution of our core product. This is a hands-on technical leadership position for an engineer who can operate across the entire application stack, combining strong backend engineering skills in Python with modern frontend development using React and TypeScript.You will work closely with engineering, product, and design to deliver scalable, reliable software that solves meaningful customer problems. Beyond building features, you will influence technical direction, establish engineering standards, and help the team make thoughtful decisions as the product and business grow.The ideal candidate brings a strong sense of ownership, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to balance rapid execution with long-term software quality. You should enjoy solving complex technical challenges, mentoring other engineers, and exploring how emerging development tools can improve the way software is built.What You'll DoOwn the design and delivery of full-stack product features, from user-facing interfaces and backend services to data flows and third-party integrations.Establish architectural patterns and engineering standards that support maintainability, scalability, security, and consistent development practices.Build and evolve backend applications and APIs using Python, designing systems that are reliable, performant, and straightforward to extend.Develop polished, responsive user experiences using React and TypeScript, with an emphasis on usability, accessibility, and frontend performance.Collaborate with product and design partners to translate customer needs and business priorities into practical technical solutions.Lead complex engineering initiatives, guiding technical decisions from initial planning through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.Improve application reliability through automated testing, monitoring, observability, and effective debugging practices.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the frontend, backend, APIs, and supporting infrastructure.Contribute to deployment processes, cloud environments, and CI/CD workflows to support secure, dependable software delivery.Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and product quality.Mentor engineers, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and help strengthen the team's technical capabilities and engineering culture.Work collaboratively across the organization while maintaining a high degree of independence and accountability for technical outcomes.What We're Looking For7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience building and maintaining production applications across the full stack.Strong proficiency in Python, including experience developing backend services, APIs, and application logic.Deep hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, including building complex, component-driven user interfaces.Experience designing and implementing full-stack application architecture, making sound trade-offs between immediate delivery and long-term maintainability.Strong understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, service integrations, and the principles of building reliable backend systems.Experience with relational databases, application performance optimization, automated testing, and production troubleshooting.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and application monitoring.Ability to lead technical projects independently, break down ambiguous problems, and drive solutions through completion.Strong product instincts and an appreciation for how technical decisions influence usability, customer outcomes, and business performance.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate architectural decisions and collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.A collaborative leadership mindset and an interest in coaching engineers, improving team practices, and raising the overall quality of the codebase.Curiosity about evolving software development practices, including the practical application of AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.Nice to HaveExperience working in an early-stage or rapidly scaling technology company.Familiarity with asynchronous processing, background jobs, event-driven architectures, or distributed systems.Experience with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and modern cloud deployment environments.Experience building internal platforms, workflow automation, or complex integrations with external systems.Exposure to mobile development or architectures that support multiple client applications. xzbcwsv Experience introducing AI-enabled engineering workflows or integrating AI capabilities into customer-facing products.
