Job Description:

The Assessment Specialist I develops, reviews, and maintains high-quality assessment items, tests, and related materials aligned with educational standards and learning objectives. The role supports test development activities, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and applies subject matter expertise to ensure assessments are valid, reliable, and aligned with client requirements.

Key Responsibilitie

• Develop, review, and refine test items and assessment content.
• Assemble and review test forms, pretests, and computer-adaptive testing (CAT) pools.
• Analyze item performance and apply assessment data to improve test quality.
• Support scoring activities, test development projects, and validation studies.
• Collaborate with clients, committees, and subject matter experts on assessment initiatives.
• Review and update test preparation materials, publications, and program documentation.
• Participate in teacher training and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Ensure compliance with assessment standards, quality requirements, and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in assessment, content development, education, or a related area.
• Strong content writing and review skills.
• Knowledge of educational standards, curriculum alignment, and assessment frameworks.
• Experience in test development, educational measurement, or applied statistics is preferred.

Reporting Structure

• Individual contributor role with no direct reports.
• Works under regular supervision of senior assessment staff.
