About the RoleTo support our growth initiative, we are seeking an experienced SAP Functional Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of our customers’ SAP programs — S/4HANA implementations, ECC-to-S/4HANA conversions, RISE and cloud migrations, and carve-out projects — end to end. This role owns the functional delivery workstream (scope, schedule, risk, and stakeholder management) and works in lockstep with oXya’s Basis and Infrastructure teams and our Functional Leads to keep technical and business-process work moving on one integrated plan.
You will work closely with Service Delivery Managers, Functional Leads, Basis/Infrastructure Leads, and customer stakeholders, and will likely support multiple customer engagements in parallel, with your time allocated based on project size, phase, and complexity. This is a delivery-accountable, customer-facing role suited to someone who has carried full ownership for SAP program schedule, budget, and scope, and is comfortable working out of our Jersey City area on a hybrid basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn end-to-end project management for SAP workstreams — planning, scheduling, budget, resourcing, and risk/issue management — across implementations, conversions, and carve-outs.Lead and facilitate fit-gap workshops, requirements sessions, and design reviews with Functional Leads and customer business stakeholders.Build and maintain integrated project plans that align functional (business-process) milestones with the infrastructure, migration, and cutover activities led by our Basis and Infrastructure teams.Coordinate testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and cutover/hypercare planning in partnership with Functional Leads and technical teams.PROJECT/CHANGE MANAGEMENT Manage project governance: steering committee reporting, RAID logs, change control, and stage-gate decisions.Track budget, scope, and schedule against baseline, escalating risks and variances to customer sponsors and oXya leadership.Flex across multiple concurrent customer engagements, prioritizing effort based on project size, criticality, and phase.Contribute to the continuous improvement of oXya’s project management methodology, templates, and tools.COMMUNICATION/PRESENCEManage vendor/subcontractor coordination and day-to-day customer stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.Engage senior customer sponsors and oXya leadership with clear, timely communication on status, risks, and decisions.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSLocal to the Jersey City, NJ area and able to work a hybrid schedule, with on-site presence for workshops, cutover, and customer meetings as needed.PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.Experience working in a consulting or managed services provider context, particularly for SAP-based landscapes.Exposure to carve-out or divestiture projects, where functional and technical separation both drive project complexity.Prior experience as an SAP functional consultant before moving into project management.Experience with RISE with SAP or other cloud/infrastructure-led transformation programs.Experience in industries such as Retail, Energy, or Manufacturing.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS5+ years of project management experience delivering full-cycle SAP programs (implementations, upgrades, conversions, or migrations).Knowledge of core SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, or similar) sufficient to lead fit-gap sessions and manage functional scope — hands-on configuration experience is a plus but not required.Demonstrated experience managing project budget, schedule, and risk for enterprise SAP engagements.Familiarity with SAP Activate or an equivalent implementation methodology.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior customer sponsors.Experience coordinating across both functional and technical/infrastructure workstreams on the same program.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
