Service Specialists recruiting agency is partnering with a growing commercial construction company to find an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join its team in either Jackson, MS or Nashville, TN. What You'll DoLead the preconstruction and estimating process from initial project evaluation through bid submission and project handoff.Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects.Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop detailed cost estimates.Perform quantity takeoffs and evaluate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and clients.Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids, ensuring accurate scope coverage and competitive pricing.Identify potential project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and alternative construction methods.Collaborate with project managers, purchasing, accounting, and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to execution.Monitor construction costs, market trends, and historical pricing data.Assist in mentoring and developing other estimating team members.
What We're Looking For5+ years of commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience preferred.Experience with hard bids, design-build, and negotiated projects.Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, costs, and project delivery.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.Proficiency with estimating software and construction technology.Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.For Nashville-based candidates: Established relationships and familiarity with the Nashville construction market are important.Candidates interested in relocating to the Jackson, MS area will also be considered.
