We are seeking talented individual to join our Reinsurance Placement team at Marsh Risk India, a Marsh business . This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Reinsurance Placement & Business Development (Facultative/Treaty) from Emerging & Developing countries (eg. Africa, Nepal, Bhutan, Latin America, Bangladesh, Erstwhile CIS countries etc.) Role overview: We are hiring a relationship-led reinsurance professional to originate and place facultative and/or treaty businesses from developing and emerging markets. This role is hands-on in market engagement, negotiation, and placement execution. Location - Anywhere in India/Across the globe We will count on you to Build and maintain active relationships with insurers, reinsurers, and MGAs to generate placement opportunities and secure capacity. Drive end-to-end execution of facultative and/or treaty placements including market approach, negotiation, and closure. Lead commercial discussions with multiple markets across regions, especially where placements require creativity, speed, and relationship leverage. Business development & revenue ownership Consistently develop pipeline through strong market reach and ongoing reinsurer/MGA engagement. Support broader growth by identifying new placement partners and expanding into new territories/segments within emerging markets. Ensure placements are clearly documented, with agreed terms captured in placing documents/slips and aligned to the specific reinsurer terms and conditions (including preparing separate placing documents where required). Confirm and document the client’s agreement to any differing terms as part of placement execution. Maintain strong discipline around key slip/contract details (e.g., parties, period, type of reinsurance, perils, limits, terms/clauses, brokerage, sanctions exclusion where applicable). Manage market negotiation sensitivities such as “best terms/most favored terms” language where applicable and ensure correct treatment in placing documentation. What you need to have: Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in reinsurance placements (facultative and/or treaty). Proven experience speaking with multiple insurers/reinsurers in developing and emerging markets. Professionals from smaller/local broking houses with existing relationships with cedants are also encouraged to apply. Strong existing relationships/network with reinsurers and/or MGAs relevant to these placements. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close placements with speed, credibility, and good market presence. Technical Skills MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. What makes you stand out?
