Position Overview

The Shopify Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, customizing, integrating, and maintaining high-performing Shopify and Shopify Plus e-commerce stores.

The role requires strong technical expertise in Shopify, Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Shopify APIs, third-party integrations, and modern e-commerce development practices. The successful candidate will work closely with UI/UX Designers, Project Managers, QA Engineers, and clients to deliver scalable, secure, and conversion focused Shopify solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Shopify Development

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify and Shopify Plus stores.
• Build custom Shopify themes and modify existing themes based on business requirements.
• Develop responsive, high-performance, and conversion-focused e-commerce experiences.
• Convert UI/UX designs from Figma or similar tools into pixel-perfect Shopify implementations.
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.

Shopify Theme & Liquid Development

• Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid.
• Work with Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture.
• Build reusable sections, blocks, snippets, templates, and metafields.
• Customize product, collection, cart, checkout, and customer experiences.
• Optimize themes for maintainability, scalability, and performance.

Shopify APIs & App Development

• Work with Shopify Admin API, Storefront API, and GraphQL/REST APIs.
• Develop and integrate custom Shopify applications.
• Build custom functionality using Shopify app development frameworks.
• Work with Shopify webhooks and third-party APIs.
• Develop integrations with external business systems and platforms.

Third-Party Integrations

• Integrate Shopify with:
• Payment Gateways
• ERP Systems
• CRM Platforms
• Marketing Automation Tools
• Shipping & Logistics Platforms
• Inventory Management Systems
• Analytics Platforms
• Customer Loyalty Systems
• Troubleshoot API and integration issues.
• Ensure reliable data synchronization between Shopify and external platforms.

E-Commerce Optimization

• Optimize Shopify stores for speed, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Improve Core Web Vitals and page-loading performance.
• Support conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives.
• Optimize product pages, collection pages, navigation, checkout flows, and user journeys.
• Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks affecting store performance.

Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Project Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, Marketing teams, and clients.
• Understand business and technical requirements and translate them into Shopify solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, estimations, and solution planning.
• Communicate development progress, technical challenges, and recommendations effectively

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of hands‑on experience in Shopify development.
• Strong experience with Shopify theme development and customization.
• Strong understanding of Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
• Experience working with Shopify APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Strong understanding of e‑commerce workflows and Shopify architecture.
• Experience working with Git and modern software development practices.
