Cost Accountant

Overview:

The Axel Group is seeking a Cost Accountant for our client's team. This role involves providing detailed analysis of costs related to equipment, consumables, products, and maintenance to support management decision-making and improve profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and track overhead costs, equipment expenses, and maintenance costs
• Assist in preparing monthly budgets in collaboration with Business Unit Management
• Maintain and summarize capital investments and assist with related audits and ledger functions
• Allocate internal rent and other costs to regional projects
• Support capital budgeting and fixed asset management
• Identify and recommend potential areas for cost savings
• Reconcile accounts and processes as needed
• Support inventory management through physical inventories and cycle count monitoring
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closings
• Develop tracking and reporting tools for financial analysis
• Process intercompany rebills

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory control, and job costing methodologies
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems, inventory management software, and financial reporting tools
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Compensation:

Salary range up to $70,000-90,000 annually (depending on experience)
