Start Date: ASAPJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Credit Specialist for a temporary, month-to-month assignment covering an employee’s medical leave. This role will focus exclusively on commercial credit evaluation and credit approvals, with no collections responsibilities.The Credit Specialist will evaluate new and existing customers, process credit applications, review credit reports, verify trade references, and use credit risk modeling tools to support credit recommendations. The team has shared credit limit authority of up to $250,000.Construction, equipment rental, or related industry experience is a strong plus.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and evaluate commercial credit applications for new and existing customers.Review credit reports through Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) and verify trade references to assess creditworthiness.Monitor existing customer accounts and reassess creditworthiness and credit limits as needed.Use credit risk models and algorithms to input customer data and generate credit recommendations.Collaborate with the Credit Manager and another Credit Specialist on credit evaluations and approval decisions.Extend credit limits within established policies and the team's shared approval authority of up to $250,000.Work with internal teams, including sales, branch operations, and rental departments, to support business needs while managing credit risk.Utilize credit management and rental platform software to complete credit evaluations and maintain accurate records.Maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders while applying consistent credit policies.Qualifications3–5+ years of commercial credit experience, preferably involving credit applications, credit investigations, credit reports, and credit limit decisions.Experience using Dun & Bradstreet or similar commercial credit reporting tools.Ability to review trade references and assess creditworthiness without relying on formal financial statement analysis.Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret credit risk data and system-generated recommendations.Experience in construction, equipment rental, or a related industry is highly preferred.Familiarity with credit management systems and rental platforms is a plus.Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small credit team.Work Environment and ScheduleMonday–Thursday onsite, with remote work on Fridays.Hours are 9:00 AM–6:00 PM to support West Coast customers.Reports directly to the Credit Manager.Month-to-month temporary assignment covering an employee’s medical leave, with an immediate start needed.
