Role Description The Professor / Head in Mechanical Engineering will lead the department’s academic, administrative, and research activities in a full-time, on-site role based in Roorkee. Daily responsibilities include delivering lectures, guiding tutorials and laboratory sessions, mentoring learners, supervising projects and theses, and ensuring rigorous academic standards. The role involves curriculum planning, accreditation-related documentation, fostering industry partnerships, and promoting research, publications, and consultancy. The Professor / Head will manage departmental resources, coordinate faculty and staff, support recruitment and development, and contribute to institutional committees and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Team Management and Team Leadership skills to guide faculty, staff, and learners effectively.
- Candidates should possess Engineering Management and Project Management skills to oversee departmental initiatives, laboratories, and academic projects.
- Candidates should possess Software Development exposure or familiarity with engineering software tools relevant to mechanical design, analysis, and simulation.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with a strong record of teaching, research, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience at the Professor level or equivalent, with demonstrated contributions to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic administration.
- Ability to design learner-centric course materials, integrate emerging technologies, and promote outcome-based education.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
