Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Medical Coder (Trainer) at GrowAI Edtech. The Medical Coder (Trainer) will design and deliver online training sessions on medical coding concepts, guidelines, and best practices to learners pursuing healthcare and AI-related career paths. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing instructional materials, creating coding exercises and case studies, reviewing learner assignments, and providing detailed feedback to support skill development. The role also involves staying current with coding standards and regulations, answering learner questions via virtual sessions or online platforms, and collaborating with the curriculum team to improve course content. The trainer will help ensure that learners gain practical coding competence and a clear understanding of healthcare documentation and compliance requirements.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong medical coding competencies, including Medical Coding and demonstrated Coding Experience.
• Candidates should possess knowledge and credentials in health information disciplines, such as RHIT certification and Health Information Management expertise.
• Candidates should possess solid understanding of healthcare language and clinical documentation, including Medical Terminology.
• Candidates should possess effective teaching, communication, and presentation skills for remote instruction and learner engagement.
• Candidates should possess experience with online learning platforms, basic data/AI awareness (or willingness to learn), and a commitment to ethical and accurate coding practices.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred; prior experience as a medical coding instructor or team lead is an advantage.
