A professional hairdressing services provider, is seeking multiple  Barbers/Hairdressers to join its team in the  Wellington region, New Zealand Successful candidates will provide high-quality hairdressing services, deliver excellent customer care, and maintain professional standards of workmanship. Applicants must be skilled, reliable, detail-focused, and committed to achieving customer satisfaction through consistent quality and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome clients in a professional manner and conduct consultations to identify their grooming preferences, desired styles, and specific service needs.
• Deliver professional barbering services, including cutting, fading, trimming, clipper techniques, shaving, and hair styling to meet client expectations.
• Perform beard and moustache grooming services, including shaping, trimming, shaving, and maintenance using suitable barbering methods and tools.
• Wash, condition, and provide hair and scalp treatments to promote healthy hair and maintain a polished appearance.
• Operate barbering tools and equipment safely and effectively to ensure accurate, high-quality, and consistent outcomes.
• Carry out hair colouring services and support the fitting, styling, grooming, and upkeep of hairpieces when required.
• Advise clients on appropriate hairstyles, grooming services, and hair care products based on their individual requirements.
• Maintain strict hygiene practices by sanitising, cleaning, and properly storing barbering tools and equipment after every service.
• Provide professional face, scalp, and neck massage services to enhance the overall client grooming experience.
• Handle customer transactions and payments while delivering professional and attentive service throughout the client experience.
• Keep the barbering workspace clean, organised, and compliant with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and perform additional reasonable duties to support the smooth and efficient operation of the business.

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $25 to $35 per hour subject to skills and experience.

Other requirements include:

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience or a relevant Level 4 qualification is required.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, based on business requirements.
• Ability to perform duties independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Capability to stand for prolonged periods while carrying out barbering and customer service tasks.
• Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain efficiency in a busy workplace.
• Reliable, dedicated, and professional with a positive attitude and strong commitment to work.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering quality grooming services and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
