Job Description
The Subsidy Executive acts as the central coordinator between internal execution teams (Projects, Procurement, Finance) and external government bodies. The position focuses on preparing airtight technical-commercial applications, navigating bureaucratic evaluation channels, and successfully tracking fund disbursements to optimize corporate working capital.
Key Responsibilities
Scheme Identification & Feasibility
- Track and analyze state and central policies related to industrial incentives, investment subsidies, export benefits, and sector-specific grants.
- Evaluate upcoming corporate capital expenditures (CAPEX) to identify eligible subsidy schemes (e.g., PLI, capital subsidies, interest subventions, or duty drawbacks).
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine the net financial benefits of schemes against their compliance costs.
Application & Documentation Management
- Compile complex technical and financial dossiers required for subsidy registration, pre-approvals, and final claims.
- Coordinate with engineering and procurement to gather equipment invoices, chartered engineer certificates, and land utilization papers.
- Draft project reports and business cases that align precisely with specific government checklist mandates.
Liaisoning & Government Relations
- Represent the organization at government directorates , industrial development corporations, and ministry offices.
- Follow up diligently on submitted files to resolve bureaucratic queries, clarify documentation, and expedite sanctions.
- Coordinate site inspections by government officials, ensuring all physical installations match submitted papers.
Accounting, Tracking & Audits
- Maintain a real-time tracking dashboard covering application statuses, approval dates, and expected disbursement timelines.
- Reconcile received subsidy funds with finance ledgers and ensure proper accounting treatment of capital vs. revenue grants.
- Provide evidence and documentation during internal, statutory, or government-led financial audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance).
- Experience : 2–5 years of dedicated experience in handling government subsidy applications, industrial incentives, or fiscal liaisoning.
- Technical Savvy : Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for financial modeling, alongside experience working with government portal frameworks.
- Domain Knowledge : Deep understanding of industrial promotional policies, fiscal incentives, manufacturing schemes, and basic taxation rules.
- Soft Skills : Exceptional patience, strong persuasive communication skills, and high political/bureaucratic acumen.
