Accountant - New Zealand Accounting Firm

We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented accountants to join our expanding team. ⸻ About the Role This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain international accounting experience by working directly with New Zealand clients. You will receive structured, paid training in New Zealand accounting standards, taxation, and business practices, with ongoing mentoring and support from our experienced accounting team. Your responsibilities will include: * Preparing annual financial statements * Preparing GST returns * Preparing income tax returns * Bookkeeping * Payroll processing * Bank reconciliations * Preparing working papers * Reviewing financial information * Assisting senior & other accountants * Communicating with clients via email * Maintaining accurate client records ⸻ What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: * Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field * Have accounting experience (preferred) * Have strong written and spoken English communication skills * Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy * Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Be able to manage deadlines and work independently * Be a positive team player with a willingness to learn * Be proficient in Microsoft Excel * Have experience with Xero or other accounting software (advantage but not essential) Recent graduates with excellent academic results and strong communication skills may also be considered. ⸻ Salary & Benefits * Competitive salary, negotiable based on qualifications, experience and performance * Paid training period * Annual salary reviews based on performance * Paid leave (to be discussed) * Long-term career growth opportunities * Supportive and collaborative work environment ⸻ Working Hours * Monday to Saturday (Saturdays negotiable) * 8 hours per day * Primarily remote work from home * As our team grows, we plan to establish an office in Amritsar, and the role may transition to a hybrid or office-based position in the future ⸻ Why Join Rideshare Consultants?
