Postdoctoral Researcher
Vanderbilt University Medical Center · Nashville, Tennessee, United States
FULL TIMEpermanent
Job Description
Our research group is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to drive an ambitious research program at the interface of epithelial biology, inflammation, and cancer. Our research program is focused on intestinal injury and repair, with the goal of understanding how the programs that preserve epithelial integrity are disrupted in the pathogenesis of IBD and, more importantly, in the progression to malignancy.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Our group brings deep expertise across inflammation, signal transduction, and stem cell biology. In addition, we have developed murine and human-derived small intestine, colon, and colorectal cancer organoid culture systems. We routinely engineer gene expression in these systems and have established robust pipelines for their phenotypic and functional analysis.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in a related field and a strong background in molecular biology, murine modeling of GI diseases, in particular familiarity with colon cancer and/or IBD models, and organoid/enteroid experience.
The successful candidate will lead their own line of investigation—designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, publishing first-author papers, and presenting at national and international meetings. They will also mentor graduate students, contribute to grant writing, and build the independent research portfolio needed to launch their own faculty career. xzbcwsv
We offer a dynamic and collaborative research environment, excellent training opportunities, and a competitive salary. If you are a driven, independent scientist eager to make a real impact on how we understand and ultimately treat IBD and colorectal cancer, we want to hear from you. To apply, please send a CV, a brief statement of research interests, and the names and contact information for threereferences to Diana Neely, Research Assistant Professor in the Williams Research Group, at
