Family Law AttorneyOffit Kurman | New YorkOffit Kurman is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with 5–10 years of experience to join our growing Family Law practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling a broad range of matrimonial and family law matters, exceptional legal writing skills, and the ability to independently manage cases while collaborating with attorneys across multiple practice areas.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in a wide range of family law matters, including separation, divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, and equitable distribution of marital property.Handle matters involving the confirmation of arbitration awards.Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, agreements, and other legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, negotiations, and court appearances.Provide strategic legal counsel to clients while navigating complex and sensitive family law matters.Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to handle matters beyond traditional family law, including related litigation and other legal disputes as needed.Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.5–10 years of substantive family law experience.Active New York Bar admission required; New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.Strong experience handling contested matrimonial and family law matters.Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Ability to independently manage a caseload and handle complex legal matters.Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.Willingness to expand beyond traditional family law matters and assist with other areas of litigation.
