We are hiring a Safety Analysis Engineer for our advanced nuclear client who is developing next-generation microreactor systems for data centers, industrial operations, remote communities, and critical infrastructure. This role will assess the safety performance of the reactor design while working closely with engineering to deliver on safety goals. ResponsibilitiesBuild and run system models of a gas-cooled reactor to analyze safety performance, including flow, temperatures, and system transients.Provide insight to reactor engineering on materials selection, materials performance, and system requirementsContribute to team-wide engineering efforts such as engineering test facility design input, system failure mode assessments, and responses to NRC questionsPrepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
RequirementsM.S./PhD in Nuclear Engineering or a related field, or B.S. with 3+ years of experience in Nuclear Engineering or a related field2+ years of experience with a system analysis code such as RELAP, TRACE, MELCOR, GOTHIC, FLOWNEX, or similar2+ years of thermal hydraulics experience, including steady-state and transient analysisStrong foundations in areas such as reactor physics, safety analysis, fuel performance, materials performance, system analysis, and PRAExperience developing models, performing analysis, and assessing resultsSelf-motivated, with the ability to identify, prioritize, and execute tasks independentlyAbility to communicate technical information clearly to teammates, leaders, and customers
