- Take ownership of water and fire mitigation jobs after the initial inspection and job plan have been established
- Lead technicians and temporary labor on active jobsites
- Set up and monitor drying equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air filtration devices
- Perform and oversee water extraction, demolition, cleaning, drying, and debris removal
- Perform fire and smoke damage cleaning and assist with contents handling and structural cleaning
- Complete emergency services including tarping, board-up, and temporary protection as needed
- Take moisture readings and monitor drying progress
- Identify changes in job conditions and communicate them to the Mitigation Lead
- Ensure required photos, documentation, readings, and daily job information are completed accurately
- Maintain proper containment, PPE, and jobsite safety practices
- Keep jobsites organized, clean, and professional throughout the project
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and other customers during stressful situations
- Direct technicians so everyone understands the day’s work and expectations
- Maintain company equipment, tools, vehicles, and materials
- Ensure trucks are clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency losses, including nights and weekends as needed
- Assist in mold remediation as necessary
- Previous experience in water mitigation, fire restoration, or a related restoration field
- Ability to independently manage the day-to-day execution of a mitigation job
- Strong understanding of water extraction, demolition, drying equipment, moisture monitoring, and structural drying
- Ability to lead and direct other technicians on the jobsite
- Strong attention to documentation, cleanliness, and jobsite organization
- Professional communication skills with customers and coworkers
- Ability to recognize when field conditions differ from the original plan and escalate appropriately
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and willingness to take ownership of results
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding restoration work
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency losses
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification
- Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification or experience
- Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) certification or fire restoration experience
- Experience supervising technicians or small crews
- Experience with restoration documentation software and moisture-mapping procedures
