Deputy Manager – Legal and Corporate Affairs

Position Purpose
The Deputy Manager – Legal & Corporate Affairs will be based at the Company’s vehicle assembly plant in Karachi and will act as the primary legal resource responsible for supporting the day-to-day legal, litigation, regulatory, and corporate affairs requirements of the Company’s automotive operations. The incumbent will work closely with the Head of the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department at the Head Office to ensure the consistent implementation of legal strategy, corporate governance standards, and regulatory compliance. The role requires a proactive legal professional who can independently manage local legal matters while providing regular updates on litigation, contractual matters, regulatory developments, legal risks, and corporate affairs.
Job Description
Manage and monitor the Company’slitigation portfolio, including timely follow-up of pending cases and courtproceedings.
Draft, review, and vet legal notices,petitions, correspondence, agreements, contracts, MOUs, NDAs, leases, and otheroperational documents.
Provide day-to-day legal support andadvice to procurement, finance, HR, supply chain, sales, after-sales, and otherbusiness functions.
Conduct legal research, provide legalopinions, identify legal risks, and recommend practical solutions to businessand operational matters.
Prepare case summaries, hearingupdates, legal risk assessments, and management reports, including support forinter-company legal matters and disputes.
Advise management and businessfunctions on applicable laws and regulatory requirements affecting theCompany’s manufacturing and business operations.
Coordinate with the Head Office Legal& Corporate Affairs Department on corporate matters, statutory filings,corporate records, and governance requirements.
Facilitate the obtaining and renewalof licences, permits, regulatory approvals, and statutory compliances,including coordination with SECP, CDC, and other authorities.
Monitor regulatory developments,ensure timely implementation of legal and regulatory changes, and maintaineffective relationships with government authorities, regulators, externalstakeholders, and legal advisors.
Coordinate with external legalcounsel and represent the Company before courts, tribunals, and regulatoryforums, where required.
Experience and Qualification
- LL.B. from an HEC-recognized university; LL.M.will be preferred.
- 06 to 08 years of relevant experience in litigation,legal advisory, and corporate affairs.
Specific Requirements
- Advocate of the High Court will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Pakistan’s corporate, commercial, labour, andcivil laws.
- Understanding of court procedures and regulatory practices.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communicationskills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal research tools.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
