Expectations and possible candidatesKnowledge in battery chemistry and trials to confirm materialsKnowledge in battery manufacturing process and problem solvingTrial management and KPI confirmationEvaluation of cell performance using analytical tools and quality functionsIndustries with compatible:Battery and automotive engineersChemical and material engineersQuality for battery, semiconductors, and chemical materialsClient’s Production Engineering (Client)-Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME) Battery Cell Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer to join our Ryohin Joken (Conditions for Good Process and Product) advancement and problem-solving group.Reporting to Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Client-BME Battery Cell Department's mission to deliver engineering solutions for rapid competitiveness improvements through safety first, people development, and customer focus.The primary responsibility of this role is leading planning and problem-solving efforts in pre-production trial activity.Utilizing and improving systems & procedures for efficient and effective issue identification, root cause analysis, issue resolution, reoccurrence prevention / kaizen to subsequent activity and projects, and project management of trials.This role will also contribute to the success of developing organization’s capabilities through advancement & application of Ryohin Joken knowledge and skill.What you’ll be doingLeader of cross-functional team collaborating with equipmentEngage and resolve material, product, and process issues both internal and externalCreate and implement working/trial plan for confirmation & problem-solving activity using Client Business Practice methods (TBP) or equivalent Lean practicesCreate detail technical and summary reports for organizational learning and developmentInput to process & equipment plan/specification for kaizen & issue reoccurrence preventionUse and advancement of systems and procedure for problem solving & learning captureIndividual activity management, status visualization/reporting, and incremental reflectionLead internal & external partner relationships aligning to team objectives, development, and supportActivity related to Client-BME Department-level Hoshin/ overall direction for organizational advancementIndividual support for standardization & kaizen (continuous improvement) of Department systems and processesMentor and Teach other members in the team on battery knowledge, trial planning and execution, data analysis and Client principles if applicableDrive own individual development, seek feedback, and monitor progressRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field3+ years of equivalent Engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience in manufacturing production preparation role and schedule/deliverable management including stages of project plan, process/equipment plan, specification & procurement, installation and trial.Experience in winding, cell assembly & electrolyte fill on automotive cells (2+ years, 5+ years Preferred)Experience in battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity.Experience in activity of Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation.Experience coordinating with varied functions in large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality, or similar, and reporting out to senior leadership level. xzbcwsv Experience in interpreting & applying product/process specification, drawing and data, etc. including new material introduction and validation and change point management and confirmationAbility for weekend and shutdown work, overtime up to 25%, and travel (domestic and international) up to 15%What you may bringExperience in application of Client Production SystemExperience in product x process/equipment simultaneous engineering for new modelExperience in manufacturing plant production operations roleExperience in data analytics tools and methodsExperience in digital engineering software tools and procedures, including the ability to read, interpret and modify model dataJapanese language proficiency including verbal and writtenTekWissen® Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
