Electrical Officer

The Electrical Officer assists the Chief Engineer with the maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment onboard. He controls electrical spare parts, conducts regular inventories and submits own requisitions to the Second Engineer for spares and consumable stores. On a daily basis, he monitors, maintains and repairs all refrigeration units including refrigerated containers. He must be fully familiar with the ship’s Safety Management System. He also ensures that any Electro Cadets assigned to the vessel are given proper training and that their training records are maintained up to date.
