Are you a self-employed bathroom fitter, floor fitter or tiler based in the Midlands, looking for regular, well-paid day-rate work to top up your own jobs? A national interiors and property services business is growing its contractor network and needs a skilled fitter who can lay flooring and fit bathroom wall panels on projects across the South, the Midlands and the North.
Based in the Midlands (Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Coventry, Solihull, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Stoke and surrounding areas), travelling to projects across the South, the Midlands and the North of England.
This would suit a bathroom fitter, bathroom installer, kitchen and bathroom fitter, floor fitter, flooring fitter, floor layer, flooring installer, wall and floor tiler or experienced multi-trader. If you already lay vinyl, LVT (Karndean and Amtico style), laminate or click flooring and fit shower wall panels, bathroom wall panels or wet wall panels, we want to hear from you. Sole traders, subcontractors and small business owners who want to supplement their own work are ideal.
The work
Every job has two parts, so you need to be confident with both:
Flooring: laying luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and vinyl plank flooring, including subfloor preparation, setting out, cutting in and finishing. Laminate, click and vinyl flooring experience is a strong foundation
Bathroom wall panels: fitting the latest tile-effect bathroom and shower wall panels around baths, shower trays and wet areas, including measuring, cutting, bonding, jointing, fitting trims and sealing
About the wall panels:
These panels are the modern alternative to wall tiling. They replicate a real tiled wall, including metro, large-format and herringbone tile patterns with realistic grout lines, but go up without grouting, mess or drying time. They are laminate-faced waterproof panels with tongue-and-groove locking joints, bonded with high-grab adhesive and sealed with silicone, and can be fitted over sound existing tiles, plaster or plasterboard. If you are a tiler or bathroom fitter, you will pick these up quickly, and a tidy, precise finish is what makes them look like a fully tiled bathroom.
Day rate and terms:
£200 to £220 per day, depending on your experience and the range of your skill set
Self-employed subcontract basis
Flexible days to fit around your existing work
All flooring, panels, adhesives, sealants and trims supplied
Regular, planned work with a national client rather than one-off jobs
What you'll need:

Your own van and full tool kit
Your own insurance cover, including public liability, as you would expect as a self-employed contractor
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South, the Midlands and the North
