Position Overview:Republican Jobs is recruiting on behalf of a client, a conservative media-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and support the organization's financial reporting and compliance activities.The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience managing financial transactions and reconciliations, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This individual will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting audits, and improving internal accounting processes.
Responsibilities:Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily accounting operations.Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial close activities.Maintain accurate general ledger records, fixed asset schedules, and prepaid expense accounts.Assist with financial statement preparation, internal reporting, and financial analysis.Support annual audits, financial reviews, and accounting compliance requirements.Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Monitor financial records, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate expense tracking and financial documentation.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve financial reporting processes.Maintain organized financial records and support ongoing internal controls.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.2–5 years of professional accounting experience preferred.Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting, audits, and accounting compliance preferred.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.CPA designation or equivalent accounting certification preferred.Alignment with the organization's conservative principles and mission.
