Senior Accounts Receivable & Billing Specialist

MediaNews Group is seeking a Billing Specialist II to join our team. This position is responsible for billing processes for all properties (newspapers) owned by MediaNews Group. This includes, but is not limited to: rating, billing, custom contracts, special pricing, contract entry, and adjustments.
Please Note: Although this is a remote position, candidates must reside in Colorado or Ohio.
For assigned properties (newspapers), generate advertising billing files, ensuring the accuracy of data prior to submission
Be the key contact for local advertising departments for billing issues
Research and troubleshoot billing issues from the properties or internal questions
Train new employees on the system and data entry
Be responsible for testing and researching projects or system upgrades
Accounting process and controls knowledge
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions (including process, policy, and procedure manuals), correspondence, and financial documents
Demonstrated ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas as needed
Self-initiative, good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, team collaboration skills, and a customer-focused mindset
Bachelor’s degree in business and/or a combination of college education and experience preferred
Knowledge of automated billing systems (Mactive and/or PBS system preferred)
The hourly range is $20.50 - $21.50.
