Hightower & Partners, an AV-rated insurance defense firm, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with approximately 2–5 years of experience to join our West Palm Beach office.
We are looking for an attorney who already has a strong foundation in insurance defense litigation and can step into an active caseload with minimal ramp-up. Prior insurance defense experience is required, we are not looking to train someone from the ground up on insurance defense litigation. That said, you will receive training and support on our firm's specific procedures, systems, expectations, and approach to handling cases.

The attorney will manage a caseload involving insurance defense matters, including bodily injury, automobile accidents, premises liability, and general negligence claims. You will be involved in all phases of litigation and will have the opportunity to handle cases with increasing autonomy while working alongside experienced attorneys and support staff.
ResponsibilitiesManage an assigned caseload of insurance defense mattersHandle cases through all phases of litigation, from inception through resolutionDraft pleadings, discovery, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation documentsConduct and defend depositionsAttend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedingsParticipate in trial preparation and develop case strategyCommunicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and other stakeholdersEvaluate claims, liability, damages, and potential exposureNegotiate settlements and participate in mediationsWork effectively with paralegals and legal support staffMaintain accurate and timely billing and case documentationMeet deadlines and manage a busy litigation caseload effectively
What We're Looking For2–5 years of experience practicing insurance defense litigationInsurance defense experience is requiredActive Florida Bar license and membership in good standingExperience independently managing litigation mattersStrong legal research, writing, and analytical skillsExperience with depositions, hearings, mediations, and discoveryStrong case-management and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize multiple matters and meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProfessional, team-oriented attitudeAbility to work independently while knowing when to seek guidanceA writing sample is required with your application
