Insight Global is seeking a Container Image Engineer for a top financial services client. This engineer will join a container image team responsible for developing secure, enterprise-ready software images that application teams can deploy on Kubernetes. The role is heavily development-focused and will involve building and maintaining container base images, writing YAML and Dockerfiles, creating CI/CD automation, and resolving CVEs and security vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate brings strong Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, and container engineering experience and is passionate about developing lean, secure images that can be safely consumed across a large enterprise environment.Day-to-Day:• Engineer and develop secure, bank-ready container base images for application teams to deploy on Kubernetes• Create and maintain lightweight container images for middleware, databases, HTTP servers, Tomcat, OpenJDK, and other essential software• Write and maintain YAML and Dockerfiles• Develop CI/CD pipelines supporting container image creation, approximately 30% of the role• Build automation around image creation, maintenance, testing, and deployment, approximately one-third of the role• Identify, remediate, and reduce CVEs and other security vulnerabilities within container images• Implement zero-risk xzbcwsv practices to ensure images meet organizational security standards• Apply fixes and updates received from software vendors to existing images• Leverage Kubernetes and OpenShift to develop and support enterprise container solutions• Provide technical support and answer customer questions, approximately 5% of the role• Follow modern container engineering practices, including Image Factory patterns and Tekton-based tooling
