On a day-to-day basis, this role oversees clinical standards, leads complex case management, and provides guidance on diagnostic and treatment protocols. </p><p>The Chief Veterinary Officer mentors veterinary staff, supports training initiatives, and ensures adherence to regulatory and ethical guidelines. Responsibilities also include contributing to hospital policies, quality improvement programs, and client communication standards, while collaborating with leadership on growth and service development. </p><p>The role involves occasional participation in community outreach, professional networking, and representation of the hospital at relevant veterinary events. </p><p><strong>Qualifications </strong> </p><ul><li>Advanced clinical veterinary skills in diagnostics, surgery, internal medicine, and preventive care. </li><li>Experience in clinical leadership, including supervision, mentorship, and performance feedback for veterinary teams. </li><li>Strong skills in medical record documentation, case management, and evidence-based decision-making. </li><li>Ability to develop and implement clinical protocols, quality assurance measures, and regulatory compliance processes. </li><li>Excellent communication skills for explaining treatment plans, counseling pet caregivers, and coordinating multidisciplinary care. </li><li>Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, operational oversight, and collaboration with hospital management. </li><li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and valid license to practice veterinary medicine; prior leadership or chief-of-service experience is highly beneficial. </li> </ul>
