Job Description

Position - IB DP Psychology Teacher Reports To Head of Department (Humanities) / IB DP Coordinator / Principal Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB DP Psychology Guide. Develop students' understanding of biological, cognitive, and sociocultural approaches to psychology. Teach research methods, ethics, and psychological theories. Support students in developing critical analysis and evaluation skills. Integrate inquiry-based, student-centered teaching methodologies. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Assessment Design formative and summative assessments in line with IB assessment criteria. Provide timely and constructive feedback. Prepare students for Internal Assessment (IA) and external examinations. Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports. Curriculum Planning Develop yearly, unit, and lesson plans aligned with the IB curriculum. Participate in curriculum review and collaborative planning. Integrate ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills and the IB Learner Profile into classroom practice. Student Support Mentor and guide students academically. Monitor student progress and communicate with parents when required. Encourage independent learning and academic integrity. Professional Responsibilities Participate in IB workshops and professional development. Attend departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events. Collaborate with colleagues across departments. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of the IB DP Psychology curriculum. Excellent classroom management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to foster inquiry-based and experiential learning. Competence in educational technology and digital learning platforms. Strong assessment and data-analysis skills. Preferred Experience Experience teaching IB DP Psychology (SL and HL). Experience supervising the Psychology Internal Assessment (IA). Participation in IB evaluation or authorization processes is an advantage. Key Attributes Passion for psychology and education.
