Academic Dean

Position: Dean Academics Institution: NET – Navodaya Institute of Technology Location: Raichur Karnataka About The Role: The Dean Academics in autonomous engineering colleges in Karnataka is responsible for managing all academic, curricular, and, regulatory activities. Key duties include designing curricula, implementing Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), scheduling, maintaining academic integrity, and ensuring compliance with UGC, AICTE, and VTU regulations. They play a pivotal role in accreditation (NBA/NAAC), monitoring, and improving educational standards. Key Responsibilities: Academic Planning & Implementation: Develop academic calendars, schedules, and policies for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Curriculum Development (Autonomous Structure): Lead the design, modification, and implementation of curricula to meet industry demands, including Choice Based Credit Systems (CBCS). Quality Assurance & Accreditation: Drive preparations for NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), conducting academic audits. Academic Monitoring: Supervise departmental activities, including teacher lesson plans, attendance, and adherence to regulations. Examination & Evaluation: Oversee Continuous Internal Evaluations (CIE) and Semester End Examinations (SEE), along with result analysis. Regulatory Liaison: Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies such as AICTE, UGC, and the affiliating university (VTU) for compliance. Student Support: Manage student performance tracking, academic counseling, and resolve academic complaints. Development: Support, supervise, and encourage faculty for professional development, research, and high teaching standards. Report to Leadership: Regularly update the Principal/Director on academic progress and strategic initiatives. Qualification: B.E, M.Tech.,Ph.D in EEE, CSE, EC Experience: Professor with at least 5 years worked as Dean-Academics is essential.
