Inpatient Acute Care Surgery (ACS) and Urology Night Shift Opportunity!
- Join a collaborative team working at Tacoma General / Allenmore Hospital
- Open to Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of one year experience post graduation
- Work autonomously in an inpatient setting to include rounding, ED consults, inpatient consults, discharging
- First assist as needed with robotics experience is preferred

Position Summary
MultiCare is seeking a nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider to deliver highquality inpatient care across Acute Care Surgical Services and Urology. The role provides overnight coverage for inpatient and ED consults, rounding, minor bedside procedures, first-assisting for urgent/emergent cases as appropriate to scope, and seamless care coordination with oncall surgeons and day teams. This provider will practice in a highly collaborative, integrated environment and contribute to the growth of General Surgery and Urology services with community partners across the Puget Sound region.Responsibilities
Core (shared) Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient and ED consults; round on admitted patients; manage active patient lists overnight
- Place pre and postoperative orders and conduct/complete comprehensive histories & physicals (H&Ps) per privileging
- Provide patient and family education; ensure diligent followup consistent with community standards
- Manage inbasket communications and coordinate crosscoverage handoffs to day teams
- Respond to pages/messages via PerfectServe and other approved channels in accordance with MultiCare policies
ACS Responsibilities
- Assist with urgent/emergent general surgery cases consistent with privileging and surgeon direction (firstassist)
- Support bedside procedures and resuscitation/initial management workflows for surgical patients
- Participate in APP/staff onboarding and ongoing training as requested by the service
Urology Responsibilities
- Perform Urology inpatient/ED consults and rounding, including minor bedside urologic procedures within scope and competency
- Coordinate urgent operative cases with the OR; facilitate preop planning and postop care for urologic patients.
- As service needs allow, support clinic followups and procedurerelated care coordination (primarily daytime teams)
Requirements
- Washington State Advanced Practice license: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required.
- WA DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority required
- ACLS, ATLS & BLS for Healthcare providers certification by AHA required
- Trauma certification as required by facility
- Surgical Experience Preferred with competency in either urologic or general surgery workflows; prior firstassist experience strongly preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $180,750.00 - $214,500.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
