Job Description
- Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive history taking, physical examinations, and clinical evaluations to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Treatment Planning & Management: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans under the supervision of consultants, ensuring continuity of care.
- Medication Management: Prescribe medications rationally in accordance with clinical guidelines, ensuring patient safety and monitoring for adverse effects.
- Emergency Care: Provide immediate management of medical and surgical emergencies, including stabilization and initiation of life-saving interventions.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform minor procedures such as IV cannulation, catheterization, suturing, and assist in major procedures as per specialty requirements.
- Patient Monitoring: Regularly review patient progress, interpret investigations, and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records including progress notes, discharge summaries, and medico-legal documentation.
- Infection Control & Patient Safety: Adhere to infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and hospital safety standards.
- Ward Rounds & Case Discussions: Actively participate in ward rounds, case presentations, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Coordination & Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Patient Counseling & Education: Educate patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medication compliance, and preventive care.
- Compliance with Regulations: Ensure adherence to PMDC/PMC standards, hospital policies, ethical practices, and clinical SOPs.
- Quality Improvement & Audits: Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Administrative Support: Assist in departmental administrative tasks and ensure efficient utilization of clinical resources.
- Continuous Professional Development: Engage in CME activities and maintain updated clinical knowledge and valid PMDC registration.
- General Responsibility: Any other task assigned by the management.
