You'll join a close-knit team where your expertise will be valued and where there is genuine opportunity to influence the direction of the service line.Your new roleAs an R&D Tax Specialist, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of R&D tax relief claims for SME clients across a range of sectors.Working closely with clients, HMRC and internal stakeholders, you'll be responsible for managing claims from initial assessment through to submission and resolution, ensuring clients receive an excellent service throughout the process.Key responsibilities will include:Preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims for a varied client portfolioGathering technical and financial information from clientsLiaising directly with HMRC regarding enquiries and claim reviewsManaging appeals and supporting clients through the enquiry process where requiredBuilding strong client relationships and acting as a trusted advisorSupporting the wider growth of the R&D service offeringThis is a role for someone who can work autonomously, take ownership of their workload and make an immediate impact within the team.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you'll have:Previous experience preparing and managing R&D tax relief claims within an accountancy practice environmentStrong technical knowledge of UK R&D tax legislation and HMRC processesConfidence dealing directly with clients and tax authoritiesThe ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyA proactive and commercially minded approachA professional qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.Experience and the ability to deliver high-quality client work are the key requirements.
