We're Hiring: Finance Engineering Consultant – Private Credit | NYC (Hybrid) Location: New York City, NY Work Model: Hybrid/On-site if needed
We are seeking an experienced Finance Engineering Consultant with strong expertise in FIS VPM, Private Credit, and financial systems analysis for an exciting opportunity with us in New York City.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with business stakeholders, investment teams, and technology teams to understand business needs and deliver effective financial technology solutions.- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to private credit, portfolio management, and investment workflows.- Leverage FIS VPM expertise to support portfolio management processes, investment data, valuations, and related financial system functionality.- Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and technical requirements.- Analyze private credit investment workflows, including loan lifecycle events, interest accruals, repayments, portfolio valuations, and reporting.- Work closely with developers, QA teams, and solution architects to support system enhancements, integrations, and issue resolution.- Perform data analysis, mapping, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial systems.- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test case development, defect tracking, and implementation activities.- Identify process gaps, investigate system issues, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and system performance.- Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business and functional expectations.
Required Qualifications & Skills- Strong hands-on experience with FIS VPM.- Solid knowledge of Private Credit and Alternative Investments within the financial services or investment management industry.- Experience in financial engineering, business analysis, technical analysis, or financial systems consulting.- Understanding of private credit instruments, including direct lending, senior and subordinated debt, and loan-related investment workflows.- Knowledge of investment lifecycle processes, portfolio management, valuations, interest accruals, repayments, and investment reporting.- Experience gathering requirements and preparing BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.- Ability to analyze complex financial workflows and translate business needs into functional and technical solutions.- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and other technology professionals.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills- Experience with SQL, data analysis, data mapping, and financial system integrations.- Familiarity with portfolio accounting, investment data management, and reconciliation processes.- Experience with UAT, test planning, defect management, and system implementation.- Previous experience supporting asset management, private credit, alternative investments, or institutional investment platforms.
