Permanent- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) – Blood Bank

Location: Chapel Hill, NC

Job Type: Direct Hire

Shift: Friday - Monday | 9:30 PM - 7:30 AM (10-Hour Night Shifts)

Pay Range: $26.85 - $45.04/hr. (based on experience)

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist (MT), or experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with strong Blood Bank experience to join a leading healthcare organization in Chapel Hill, NC.

Requirements:

MT/MLS (ASCP or AMT) Certification OR

MLT (ASCP or AMT) Certification with Blood Bank experience

Blood Bank Experience Required:

• Type & Screen
• Antibody Identification
• DAT
• Eluate
• Phenotyping
• Antigen Typing
• Product modifications (syringe aliquots, irradiation)
• MTP and Emergency Release protocols

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient testing and laboratory analysis
• Troubleshoot equipment, specimens, and workflow issues
• Perform quality control and proficiency testing
• Monitor accuracy and precision of laboratory testing
• Prepare reagents and control materials
• Serve as a technical resource and assist with training
• Support laboratory operations while maintaining CLIA standards

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science, Chemical Science, or Biological Science OR
• Associate Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technology

Note: MLT candidates will be considered; however, they must have hands-on Blood Bank experience in larger facilities (500+ beds).
