Job Description

The **Senior Medical Officer (SMO) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for leading clinical activities and ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care for critically ill patients. The role involves supervising medical staff, coordinating patient management, and collaborating with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. The SMO performs detailed patient assessments, orders investigations, prescribes treatment, undertakes emergency procedures such as CPR, and ensures compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, infection control, and standardized medical protocols. Additionally, the position includes administrative and supervisory duties such as maintaining equipment readiness, ensuring availability of emergency drugs, monitoring staff performance and punctuality, maintaining records, implementing duty rosters, and supporting hospital management in operational and quality improvement initiatives within the ICU.

Qualifications

MBBS Degree & Completed FCPS training in Medicine and Allied with a valid PMDC license.

Additional Information

Experience: Must have completed FCPS training in a recognized tertiary care hospital.
